I’m just going to leave this here for a minute so everyone can stew on it. I don’t know what this image may mean for you, but here is what it says to me:
We live in a society where it is socially acceptable for women and girls to obsessively and continuously diet. People complain about the unhealthy and unrealistic size of models but continue to produce and purchase magazines or watch television/movies that herald this figure. As a result you have a culture obsessed with being thin, and more so being a size that their body frame likely cannot handle. Juxtaposed with the obesity crisis there is a deep-seeded fear among girls of becoming or being fat when they are in fact a healthy weight. That is where this image comes into play. Instead of telling other impressionable girls to eat in moderation and enjoy food, everything you consume has become a time bomb. Food has become the enemy instead of the real nemesis: unhealthy standards and a culture that embraces over-eating and under-eating.
